UPDATE 5/9/07:

If anyone hasn't noticed, aNToK hasn't been around much at all the last few months. After not being able to work for 7 months due to a pretty major shoulder injury, I'm currently working 3 jobs and still trying to get my internet businesses set up, so my time's been about nil for all my subbing projects. Starz and Chimie have done an amazing job of getting me the initial edited/QC'd versions of the next 18 or so eps of this series, so in the interest of getting them out for people to see, I'm planning on doing something a bit unusual for me and releasing them before I have a chance to go over them with my usual anal fine-toothed comb. At the end of this post is a poll on whether or not you all would prefer to have fairly steady releases of the show with the existing subs, or whether you'd rather wait until I get caught up with things. If I release these, I may or may not be able to find the time to upload a final version until much later, as I usually spend several hours per ep tweaking this and that before release.

Starz and Chimie have done an incredible job making sense of the horrific original dvd subs, and the changes I've been making thus far have been very minor ones here and there, so I'm guessing that folks would be much happier finding out what happens next rather than waiting for my overworked butt to find the time to polish them up.

Attached are the subs for the last two released eps (30 and 31) so you can watch those and see the quality before you decide to vote.

Update 9/30/2006: All future eps will be encoded and uploaded with the h.264 codec and will appear in the .mp4 or .mvk container. The only things you may need if you're having trouble viewing any of the files are the h.264 codec and the Matroska directshow splitter. The easiest way I know of to get them is either at free-codecs.com or with the CCCP codec pack.

Okay folks, welcome to the Terms Of Endearment subtitle thread!!

This is looking to be one of the better K-dramas I've seen in a while, so I'm excited to be working on it! If you're into heavy melodrama, beautiful girls (and uh, guys I guess. I'm not one to judge that...) then you should feel right at home with this one.

This is a 70 episode drama, so sit back and enjoy a looooooonnnnggg ride. This one will take a while!

A few quick notes:

1. We've got a number of KDA members contributing on this one, some experienced subbers and some pretty new to the scene, and everyone's working hard and pulling together to get this one cranked out as quickly and accurately as possible. Our sub editors and QC folks are doing a killer job in getting the corrected versions to me, and I'm doing the final run-throughs and filtering and uploading the raws, and I tend to be particularly anal about quality, so any delays in getting them posted you can blame on me. I'm very well known for my sweet, humble acceptance of rude and critical people.

2. I'll do my best to keep the thread clean, and all subtitles will be posted here on page 1 as soon as they're available (though it is fun watching people scramble around 60 pages trying to find them.... Tongue

)

3. Anyone who knows me knows how I respond to requests, demands, etc. so while constructive comments, etc. are always welcome, bear in mind that we're putting a lot of time and effort into bringing this to you, so play nice or feel my wrath....

4. Reposting the subs on other sites, Clubboxes without permission is NOT OK. And especially no YouTube!!These subs are being provided for D-Addicts members, by D-Addicts members, so support your site and your subbers by directing them here!

Note: The subs are being timed to the raws being uploaded by KDA. These are original dvd rips, so we can't guarantee that they will match up with other rips when or if they appear.

Note: Starting with episode 8, all video files will contain a KDA watermark. Also, selected episodes will be released hard-subbed rather than the current soft-only version in our effort to minimize the profiteering on E-Bay, etc. with unscrupulous people reselling the files we've created. There won't be any raws or .srt's released for these files, bu the quality will remain consistent with the rest of the series.

NOTE: Some eps will be hardsubbed to help deter profiteering of the files. (also because I'm fond of making hardsubs...) No softsubs will be provided for the hardsubbed eps, so kindly don't ask. (There aren't currently any raw versions for them uploaded anywhere that I know of for these eps, so they wouldn't do much good anyway...)

OK folks, quick update: Subs for ep 2 are partially done now that I've got the video in my hot little hands. I'm picking up my munchkin at the airport tomorrow (been in China for 2 months. I wanna go!!!!) so between that and a full 12+ hour workday on Friday, I'm anticipating having the subs for ep 2 up sometime Saturday.

Also, Ep 1 will be edited to reflect the Korean names soon that will be used for the remainder of the series.

UPDATE: Having lost all but 5 minutes of the corrections, ep 2 will be a bit delayed. Currently trying to obtain copies of the KBFD version to compare so that we can offer a better quality and more consistent sub for the remainder of the series....
