The way I think that some boards have implemented it is that the thank you just list all the people who have clicked a thank you to the post. This way, in addition to knowing how many you got, you'd know who thanked you.
This way you'd have a sub thread with 1 post / ep and a few comments. Much easier to manage. It seems that the thumbs thing never really caught on, this might replace it or enhance it_________________ Jdrama Chinese fansub index 2006 | 2007

Yes, that's exactly the idea I had - have all the people who clicked "thank you" listed in the post. Also, each member would know not only how many thank you's he received, but the number of thank you's he himself made. And this doesn't have to be used just for uploads and seeds. If someone uploaded a photo, or someone provided a URL on how to rip a video, the thank you button can be used in these situations.
As for the thumbs up/down feature, this has a different purpose. It was meant to be used to allow the members to tag inappropriate posts. I've never actually seen a post be deleted using this feature, but I've seen four or five thumbs-down on a single post. _________________ 1. Always read FAQs for a given forum before posting.

Oh I've seen it work. Though it is quite comical when the post that gets deleted is the thread starting post. You have all these people going off on a guy... but no one knows why anymore. lol

I've got some questions.
Is it possible the add the the option, other than jdrama/kdrama/hkdrma, other, j-tv, k-tv etc when it comes to in which category to put a torrent when uploading it.
I come to think of this when reading a post about Filipon dramas.
Also will the category Filipino dramas be added to DramaWiki?_________________ VSSing until Dec 1st: Kita no Kuni kara ep 1-6

| I don't know if this has already been suggested, but in the subtitle index would it be possible to set it up like the wiki page. So, if I was interested in Coffee Prince, I could select English and then C. All the C's would come up. Also, if the drama could be listed in order without the articles (A, an, or The). For example, The Vineyard Man would be found under the V's instead of the T's.

The current method to thank the uploaders, subbers and translators in D-Addict is by logging in and then post your comments and thanks in the appropriate thread.
I admit that people like me are too lazy to log in and hence unable to express my thanks to the uploaders, subbers and translators involved. However, there's this neat and simple system introduced in Mangahelpers Community ( http://mangahelpers.com/ ) that allow the users to thanks the people involved with just a click and without having to log in and write any comments.
Here a sample of the page ( http://mangahelpers.com/s/goong-scanlations/details/28806 )
In the middle of that page you can see a green button that says "Thanks for scanlating this manga!". By clicking just that button, users can easily thank those involved in the release.
I believe most users will find it easier to thanks the involved uploaders, subbers and translators if D-Addicts use the similar system.

The only problem I have against anonymous "thank you's" is that I don't consider it as participation in the D-Addicts community. You must log in in order to have a say. The same thing should go for people who want to thank someone with a click of the mouse - it is basically the same thing.

The "peer stats" accessed by clicking on the "show peer stats" link on torrent pages always show the following peer:
| Quote: |
Peer IP Uploaded
a z Downloaded
a z Progress
a z Connected
a z Share Ratio
a z Average Upload Rate Average Download Rate
85.17.170.xxx 100 B 100 B 670.60 MB (100%) 0d 00:43 1.000 0 B/sec 0 B/sec
85.17.170.xxx 100 B 100 B 670.60 MB (100%) 0d 00:13 1.000 0 B/sec 0 B/sec
85.17.170.xxx 100 B 100 B 670.60 MB (100%) 0d 00:31 1.000 0 B/sec 0 B/sec |
As shown in the quoted instance, there are often multiple instances of that particular peer - I've often seen more listings of this peer than actual leechers. (I assume - perhaps wrongly - that these represent connections with the tracker(?), so I'll refer to them as "tracker" peers or listings.)
In any event, it seems like each these listings are counted in the stats as an individual downloading peer, which gives the observer a false impression of the level of activity in any particular torrent.
For example, let's say I have some spare upload bandwidth and am looking for something to seed. I use the torrent search function to get a listing of the series I want to help seed. As with most of the torrents here, it's fairly sparsely populated, and I want to seed the episodes with the most leechers. Looking at the listing, I see one episode with 0 uploaders (UL) and 4 downloaders, and another with 0 uploaders and 7 downloaders. Because of the multiple "tracker" listings, there is no way you can tell with any confidence how many actual leechers are in either torrent, without looking at the actual torrent peer stats; it could well be that the former torrent actually has NO leechers and the latter has only one or two. This, in essence, renders the "DL" numbers meaningless for sparsely populated torrents - which seem to be, as I already noted - most of the torrents listed on this site.
I don't know if it's even possible, but it would be quite helpful if those "tracker" listings could be either eliminated, or at least not counted as a "DL" peer in the torrent stats.

I know this is a small thing but could there be a link next to download on a torrent search for copying a link back to the torrent file? Basically all it would need would be a url wrapper with the episode name as the link. It sounds like a simple thing but when torrent files don't show the episode name it can be tough to find them sometimes.
Thanks.

On the torrent page, for each torrent you get a link to the torrent comment (linked to the title) and a link to the torrent file (the "download" link in the torrent column). What else do you need?

The shoutbox is only meant for leaving simple messages, just like a bulletin board. If you want a real-time chat then you are welcome in our IRC channel. (You will find the link to our channel as well as some instructions right above the shoutbox.)

What I typically do when I have a request or when I post something is try to link to the torrent. If there was a way for folks who aren't technically proficient to be able to click on something to easily create a linked request that would make seed requests easier.
for example instead of asking for Ainori#340 seed plz they would have
Please seed Ainori 2006.12.04 [#340]
with the complete link code including torrent name either copied to the clipboard or as a copy link location option. I know this sounds petty but if you have torrent files that don't match the episode name it can get confusing, or you just download the torrent again. Dunno just thought it would be something nice.
