| That series has just finished filming. Post-production work should take at least 3 months. I dont anticipate seeing this being released this summer. Probably towards the end of the year or early next year. _________________ Currently Seeding:

Let me see if my comments will cause anything on this forum. There were arguments from fan from the 1995 series. People argue about Liu Yi Fei and Carmen Lee.
I've watched the 10 minutes preview and this series looks bad @ss. I think Huang Xia Ming looks the best than of any of the past Yang Guo. I know he'll do a good job in acting in this series. Not many people like the new costume or props. I disagree. For example, YG's sword...it reminds me of Final Fantasy VII (one of greatest RPG of all time).
Carmen Lee was or you could say ' still is ' a beautiful person. She had accomplished many great roles. Carmen was great in ROCH95. However, she's the past. Many comments on Liu Yi Fei's acting. LYF is still new to the scene. People judge her from the role she played in ' Tian Long Ba Bu'. You could say she was bad but she was inexperienced. She was what...15-16 years old at time? She's a beautiful young woman. I believe she has a lot of potential or else cast director/producer of ROCH2005 wouldn't ask to play a big role. The first time I saw Carmen Lee...I thought she was beatiful but that was about it. It was different with Liu Yi Fei. She look so fine in 'Tian Long Ba Bu'
These are just my comments and opinions.

Hmm the actor looks like Steve Ma JingTao
And I think the actress is too young to play that role .... she's supposed to be much older than Yang Guo right ?

| Well, I believe she's suppose to be 5 years older him. Yang Guo in that picture suppose to be 18 and she's 23. I agree with you though. She might be too young for the role since she's 18-19 years. They'll probably make look older but we'll see.

Murong Fu's cousin...the very hot one who kept on trying to get his attention.
If you watched Phoenix's 1st subbed episode....u'll know who i'm talking about.
Anyway, ppl dissed LYF's acting pretty bad..but there supposedly wasn't alot
to work with cuz the character is supposed to be bland..even in the novel.
At least that's what i'm told.
Also...according to some of the forums i've read, I think she did another wuxia
series afterwards...paladin something or other...some series based on a video game.
Everyone in the forum(i think actresses section of wuxiaworld??..not sure)
agreed that her acting had improved. Hopefully, it'll have improved even more
in this series.
Just remember one thing, there really isn't much to work with when you consider
the character of Xiao Long Nu. She was cold and bland to everyone and everything
except Yang Guo. As long as she does an acceptable job and is good eye candy,
i'll be ok with it. My main concern...biggest concern even, is that Shen Diao Xia Lu
is primarily a love story. No chemistry between the 2 main leads and the whole
series will suck.
Chemistry was what made the '83 version the best.
EDIT:: oh yeah...one thing alot of ppl don't realize is that XLN was always "supposed"
to look around 16 or 17 years old. Even when she was like over 30, her ancient tombs
martial arts keeps her youthful looking and young. Which was why Yang Guo
ever since becoming a man ALWAYS looked older than her when it was exactly the
opposite. Even after the 16 year separations, she wasn't supposed to look like she'd
aged at all...while Yang Guo was supposed to look aged from all the stress and sadness of the separation...and when he thought she was dead(the white hairs).

Keius...does the novel mention anything about the tome keeping her young? I don't know if they say anything in the movie or maybe I miss it. Maybe they'll explain it in ROCH2005...because Liu Yi Fei look to be the youngest of all the XLN.
I like all of the ROCH series except for when Richie Chen series( not sure if i spell his name right ). I don't know what they were thinking. He doesn't look nothing like a YG.

Xiao Long Nu had the ancient cold bed which seems to keep them young and full of qi. Supposedly her diet also contributed to her youthful appearance.
I think you're thinking of Richie Ren.
As for Liu Yi Fei, I'm still not convinced about her acting. She was rather horrible in TLBB, and she didn't seem all that much better in Chinese Paladin. Though XLN's part doesn't require all that much, she still needs to master the COLD look. She's got the innocent part ok, just needs to work on the COLD look.
I'm more interested in who's going to play Guo Jing and Huang Rong... _________________ "Is it possible that I have survived somehow until today? What you say seems but a dream dreamed within a dreamer's dream." - Norimori, Tale of the Heike

Also, her master/sifu taught her to not have any emotions. Without feeling sadness, stress she is able to keep her youthful look. That's also why she supposes to act cold to everybody except yg
And living isolated throughout her childhood help her becoming unemotional
When YG first meet her, he's around 13, and it was her 18th bday. And throughout the story, even after 16 years seperation, she suppose to look the same
During the first encounter with Reverence Golden Wheel, nobody believes YG at first, when he says XLN is his sifu, because she looks younger than him.

The tomb itself doesn't keep her young. It's more her martial arts.
Her internal energy remains high and progresses so long as she doesn't
feel emotion and remains "coldhearted". Emotion supposedly affects her
martial arts style.
But, it's prob more a big number of factors. Tenten hit on some of it...
Good diet(honey, etc), cold emotionless martial arts, being in the tomb means less
sunlight to affect her skin, 16 years of healthy living down in the valleys pit, etc.
But...its primarily her ancient tombs style. Never quite figured out if Li Mou Chu uses
the exact same style..but i doubt it. That ones got ALOT of rage and anger in her.
