Coming of age drama: Sharp 2
Anyone watch this? It's about a middle school girl played by Go Ara, and her life. She basically goes to school, hangs out with friends, makes new friends, learns about various things like trust and rivalry, discovers special interests (a feeling for particular singers and artists) while learning to cherish shared interests with parents and friends (well, ep 3 was about this). In short, it's about growing up, with plenty of self-narrative etc..
This is my kind of show. I adore it. It's too bad these shows don't get subtitled. They're a pleasure.

Summary for episode 4. Oak Lim Hee (Go Ara) has lofty ideas of what love and romance are, and she finds a guy she likes. She schemes to get to him, and get him to ask her out. Eventually, she's disappointed by the realiy; the guy is not the ideal romaniticist that she is. Meanwhile, she hooks up a friend with a friend and they start dating each other. She becomes jealous of their relationship.
I like this show a lot because the music selection and casting are wonderful. Go Ara embodies her charachter, her emotions and inquisitive self-narratives. Her character sets up ideals only later to deal with the fact that they don't hold in the real world. At the same time, she finds inspirations and learns alot from the relationship her parents have. Isn't that sweet?
Screen caps from ep 4.
In Korean the show is titled Ban Ohl Lim 반을림. It started airing once a week since March this year and I believe it's ended recently at 45 episodes. Each episode lasts for 40-44 minutes. Kim Ki Bum is in it too, though his character hasn't appeared yet.
All episodes (high and low quality) can be downloaded from lollol101's clubox.

Btw, this show is a comedy!

I think someone upload ep 1 with english subtitle here in d-addicts, but only ep 1, the rest, only raw, also available in d-addicts tracker.
I watched that english subbed ep1 and i like it too
The website provides daebon/korean script which would make english translation a little easier.. but still.. translating 46 episodes is a lot of work.. _________________ Yangshun: Ajossi, the early bird catches the worm

Are you really in Korea?
Anyway, I'm up to ep 8 of this show. It's the lovely. I am seriously enjoying it and getting more and more involved with the characters -- This rarely happens! The dialogue and direction are many times smarter than the usual k drama. Definitely worth watching if it ever gets subbed or if Yesasia or someone releases it with subs. Sometimes it's nice indeed being able to understand Korean.
ps: Correctoin to my other post. I got the name wrong. Go Ara's character's name is Lee Oak Rim.

Alright, sorry for bumping up this thread again. But ep 8 and 9 were wonderful. Wow. I'd do a summary for these eps but I don't believe there's a point. This is like my favorite drama ever so far. I like how ep 9 ended (it was unpredictable) and ep 8 was heartbreaking. I like how they made a theme of Weezer's song "Butterfly" and kokdogee in ep 9.

^ 오, 아이 씨. I'm the same in regard to the language.. I actually started watching dramas and stuff purely because I had been trying to learn Korean.
@mallepa. Yeah, I can't stress how much I love these shows. There's a lot of life and poetry in them, even though I also tend to like darker things too. Ep 10 was awesome, in a nutshell sort of about waiting to find out the reason for why one was born. It starts off with Go Ara and friends camping outside at night and making wishes to falling stars. n___n
I mentioned the music but I'll have to mention it again. I'm coming across some excellent and new tracks in each episode. Ep 10 had Doris Day's Que Sera, Sera and Janis Ian's Stars! Those are awesome songs with beautiful lyrics.
Thanks for the replies.

I made a mistake. The show I've been watching is Sharp 1. Sharp 2 is, I guess, when Go Ara's character goes to highschool.
Sharp 1 ends at 64 episodes and Sharp 2 ends at 50 episodes, so it's unlikely it'll ever get fan subbed.
I'm on ep 35 of Sharp 1. There are many episodes that I just love and Go Ara truly proves her worth as a child star. The show itself is episodic but there are lot of overarching threads of story and developing relationships going on. I love the fact that I have like 70+ episodes more to go before it ends.
