I'll add my thanks to the people who helped get this show out and subbed. Good job.
Awesome show. Loved the little in-joke of using Matilda's voice actor for Yamada's mom. A great finish overall.

First off of course I wantto thank the fansubbers who helped sub this drama, you guys did an awesome job and in a relatively short time frame, from 1 fansubber to another.
And now as for the final episode, am I the only one who found it extremely annoying? I felt like smacking all of them around. They dragged out out the whole process and it was all way too cheesy that I almost didn't want to finish the episode. The first half was like a recap while the 2nd half was just forum people crying the whole time. Oh well... Still a good drama overall since i'm not the type of person to let the ending ruin a decent entire series.
Oh yeah and I really hate Densha Otoko character, too whiny and annoying. I guess what redeems it is seeing that girl kick his butt. A little too much pride in your otaku there pal...
Oh yeah and if anyone is interested in that Garage Kit somone told me it was sold at komiket for like 92 dollars or so.

Well I guess this is the last subtitling work I'll be doing, thanks to grad school apps, two jobs, and everything else that can happen in life (not to mention a lack of interest in TV in general these days). I hope my subs gave people a good understanding of what the show's creators wanted its audience to feel.
At the very least, I always advocate trying something out in order to better appreciate it, and I have to say I respect fansubbers a lot more after my experience. I don't rely on them for the language aspect (that they let me download Japanese shows for free), but my hat goes off to the time and dedication they're willing to put in to share something they really like with other people.
I know that there are some places where my subtitles don't exactly match what's being said, but I decided to do that so that English-speaking audiences would understand what was happening on a deeper level.
This is definitely the drama for 2005. I hope Miho Shiraishi gets a best supporting actress award for her work, which was definitely a different role for her. I'm always a fan of strong supporting roles, and the two otakus, Jinkama, Sakurai, and the message board posters really made the TV drama what it is.
Again, I'd like to give a shoutout to Greyhorse, aviness, and densha-lover for the subtitling work they and their teams have done. Special thanks to tianj for his help in providing the Korean subtitles, and most importantly, to my personal friends for their constant support and advice.
Masa
P.S. - I'm still waiting for a drama that'll beat Ousama no Restaurant... Even with all those Gundam references, I'd put Densha Otoko in my top 5 list, but sadly, it didn't dethrone Kouki Mitani's work in my book.
(spoiler alert)
I almost fell off my chair when Densha's mom comes in - she really is the voice actress for Lt. Matilda!
I had a tough time working out some of what Densha and Hermes say to each other when they reveal how they feel about each other - when it comes to romance, English and Japanese words just don't match very well, and as embarassed as I am to say it, I had to dig a little from my own personal experiences to fill things in. Hope it wasn't too confusing.
(end spoiler alert)
(Non-believer alert?)
There's still speculation over where this actually happened. Perhaps what's most damming to the veracity of the Densha Otoko story is that Hermes cups don't come in pairs...
Nevertheless, it's definitely a quality piece of work, and I've always enjoyed it as that (and will continue to do so).

I just saw on jdorama that it features Yamaguchi Tomoko, can this be found somewhere?
